After a very competitive process, Christ Church Lutheran was recently awarded a $160,000 matching grant from the National Park Service’s Save America’s Treasures program. The grant will be used to restore the church’s tower, which is deteriorating: mortar is chipping, brick is spalling, and the welds that attach the cross to the tower are failing. Christ Church Lutheran was just one of 41 projects selected for funding out of more than 400 applications received nationwide.
To match the federal grant, the congregation and the Friends of Christ Church Lutheran have launched a fundraising campaign called “Reaching New Heights,” with the ambitious goal of matching the $160,000 federal grant while also raising an additional $40,000 for planning, development and future preservation and stewardship of the church.
We invite you to join us in the campaign to help preserve this architectural masterpiece for the future. Online contributions can be made through giveMN.org.
