Marianne Wargelin
Honorary Consul
Republic of Finland
Marianne Wargelin serves as the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Finland, and is a longtime friend of Christ Church Lutheran. Following twenty years of teaching cultural history at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, she became an Independent Scholar, publishing and speaking about things Finnish and Finnish American. She has served on the boards of FinnFestUSA, the Journal of Finnish Studies, and the Finlandia Foundation, Twin Cities Chapter. She holds an A.A. from Suomi College, a B.A. in English from Augustana College, and an M.A. in English from the University of Michigan. A student of American Studies at the University of Minnesota, she is now completing her dissertation in history at the University of Tampere, Finland.
